This 12 day package tour is organized for all travelers who wish to explore the Northern Vietnam in depth. Travel itinerary:

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival - Hanoi City Tour (/L/)
Transfer you to the airport for the flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival, our tour guide and driver will pick you up and transfer you to the center of the city for city tour. You will visit Vietnam Museum of Ethnology – the biggest and most interesting museum in Hanoi, you will get to understand the culture of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam.

Have lunch at a local restaurant, afternoon, you will visit the temple of literature – the first university of Vietnam date back to 11th century, visit Hoan Kiem lake - the Lake of the Restored Sword and Ngoc Son Temple, Ho Tay with lovers Thanh Nien Street, the sedate Tran Quoc Pagoda and QuanThanh Temple.

In the late afternoon, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show. We will take 1 hour cyclo tour around the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi - Mai Chau (B/L/D)
Our tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel at 8:00AM and leave Hanoi for Mai Chau. Travel by road to the picturesque valley of Mai Chau. In the afternoon, Short trek around the valley and experience some of their traditional features. Enjoy night time performance in the traditional house on stilts.

Day 3: Mai Chau – Ninh Binh (B/L/)
Awake to the sound of nature. Take an early trek around the valley of relax and enjoy the pristine environment and the peace of the countryside and beautiful landscapes with green rice fields,...

After Lunch, drive from Mai Chau to Ninh Binh through the less-traveled route with countryside road and rice farm. Upon arrival, check in the hotel and overnight in Ninh Binh.

Day 4: Ninh Binh – Tam Coc boat Trip – Hoa Lu Ancient Capital – Cuc Phuong National Park (B/L/D)
Have breakfast at the hotel, check out and drive to Tam Coc - Tam Coc known as "Halong Bay on land" boasting breathtaking scenery, “Tam Coc” means three caves. We then get on small rowing boats; the boat trip to all three caves takes about two hours.

We then take an easy cycle tour from Tam Coc to Hoa Lu through picturesque landscapes of rice fields, Limestone Mountains and countryside's villages. Hoa Lu - the former capital of Vietnam, we visit two temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, the two heroes who lived in 10th century and chose Hoa Lu to build the citadel of the capital city of Dai Viet.

After visiting Hoa Lu, We continue driving to Cuc Phuong National Park though the countryside road. Upon arrival, check in the guesthouse. Diner and overnight in the guesthouse in the park.

Day 5: Cuc Phuong National Park Trekking – Hanoi - Night train to Lao Cai (B/L/D)
In the morning, we will do the trekking about 6 km to visit the flora, fauna and one-thousand-year-old sequoia tree, visit the Endangered Primates Rescue Center. Have lunch and relax.

In the afternoon, we drive back to Hanoi. You are then check in a small hotel for relax and a shower until transfer you to a local restaurant for diner and take a night train to Lao Cai. Overnight on the train (Soft sleeper with A/C – private wooden cabin).

Day 6: Lao Cai – Sapa – Cat Cat & Sin Chai Village (B/L/)
Arrive Lao Cai at around 5:30, pick up and transfer you to Sapa (about 1 hour driving on a mountainous road). Have breakfast at a local restaurant before visiting Sapa market, walk around Sapa town until check in time. Have lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we trek to visit Cat Cat and Sin Chai villages down in  Muong Hoa valley. Enjoy the spectacular views of the beautiful valley towards Fansipan – highest peak in Vietnam and Indochina. Trek through the villages of Black H’mong ethnic minority to learn the way people weaving and embroidering their clothes, keep going down to enjoy colorful rice paddy fields and the interesting waterfall.  Trek back to Sapa. Overnight in a hotel in Sapa Town.

Day 7 - Sunday: Sapa – Bac Ha Sunday Market – Sapa – Lao Chai & Tavan villages trekking & home stay (B/L/D)
Today we have breakfast at the hotel, check out and drive to visit Bac Ha Sunday Market. With a dozen of tribes living in the surroundings, including Flower HMong, Chinese, Nhang, Dzao, Nung, Phu la, Thai and King (or Viet), the Sunday market of Bac Ha is extremely exciting especially in the early morning. Not a unique in the Northern mountains of Vietnam but one of the very few places whose infrastructure allow the car to reach, Bac Ha soon became a captivating destination. Anyhow, the difficult road helps maintain the colours (literal and figurative sense) of the area. The Sunday market in Bac Ha is often held? Well, on Sunday, and a lot of the market sellers are women from the tribe of Flower HMong, who are famous for their wonderful craft and hand-made flowering clothes and textile fabrics. The market is most exciting just for a half day. You may see people leaving (after eating) back to their villages, we then have lunch and drive back to Sapa. We keep driving from Sapa towards Muong Hoa valley where you can admire the magnificent landscapes. Downhill trekking to visit Lao Chai and Ta Van villages home of Black H’mong and Dzay people. Diner and overnight in a family of the Dzay people.

Home Stay in a clean Stilt House of the Dzay family.

Day 8: Ta Van Trekking to Giang Ta Chai – Ta Phin Red Dzao Village – Lao Cai – Night Train to Hanoi (B/L/D)
Have breakfast and say goodbye to the family and we keep trekking another 5 km through a bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai where you the Red Dzao are living. Meet and talk with people to learn more about their daily life, customs and traditions. Pass over the Cau May Bridge then our driver will pick you up and transfer to Lao Cai City. On the way, we drive to visit Ta Phin – the village of the red Dao people, take an easy walking into the village, talk with the local people, visit a family there to understand how their house is and how they live.

Drive to Lao Cai, have dinner at a local restaurant before taking a night train back to Hanoi. Overnight on the train (Soft sleeper with A/C – private wooden cabin).

Day 9: Hanoi – Halong Bay Overnight on junk boat (B/L/D)
Arrive Hanoi early in the morning, transfer to visit Hanoi Flower Market which is open very early in the morning and supplies flowers for the whole city. Have breakfast at a local restaurant then drive for about 3.5 hours through the Red River Delta to Halong City. On the way, we will stop for refreshments. Upon arriving in Ha Long City, welcome on our junk, check in private cabin with A/C, following fresh sea lunch while boat cruising through amazing landscape of cliff stone mountains emerge from green crystal water, spend the afternoon time for visiting biggest and most beautiful cave in Halong Bay, swimming, relaxing at the beach other enjoy kayaking to explore lagoon, dinner and overnight on boat.

Day 10: Halong Bay Kayaking – Cat Ba Island (B/L/)
After breakfast we check out our cabin move transit boat enjoy almost a full day on the calm waters of Ha Long Bay to explore Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha bay with thousands of lime-stone mountains, do kayaking on the bay. In the afternoon we arrive in Cat Ba Island. Our vehicle is waiting for us in the wharf; we transfer to the hotel and relax. Or we spend our time at the beautiful beach on the island. Overnight in a hotel in Cat Ba Island.

Day 11: Cat Ba National Park Trekking – Hai Phong – Hanoi (B/L/)
After having breakfast we visit the Cat Ba National Park with the old Military Hospital cave that was used by the North Vietnamese Army during the American war. We will return to Cat Ba Township before boarding on speed boat for more an hour riding to Vietnam’s largest sea port and third largest city, Hai Phong. Pick you up and transfer to Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 12: Hanoi Departure (B/)
Free time at your leisure until pick you up and transfer you to the airport for the departure flight. Tour ends.
